Economy Unemployment-Why do people who have Masters and PhD see less unemployment outlooks than ones that don't

The question came to me today after enrolling into my new school to study Political Science and Government with a minors in Organizational Management, why do holders of a PhD or a Masters see less chances of losing their job in the economy?

What it came to be true with most teachers say is that the higher your degree the more buffering in background you have for certain jobs such as Government jobs that are permanent. Now the research that I have done on the matter was very interesting because there are so many people out of  work because the majority of them have a Associates degree or less.

The website that is posted above gave light to my question why a higher degree in level buffers the chances of keeping a job in a bad economy and/or deep recession period like the one we are in now.

Which I found to be very interesting because I would never had though the professionalism in the level of a degree would make a difference in a person's work outcome than anything else in the job market. I made a chart so one can review where they stand based on the latest statistics on the global economy so, whenever you are finished reading then feel free to check out the interactive chart.
