Hello Again.
I was looking at some of my favorite places to buy professional clothing and, found some potential outfits to buy to start off my career as a college student to become a legal professional. I remember when I dated a boy that was a 26 year old man that did not have professional clothes and only bought with him 1 shirt and two pairs of pants and one pair of shoes.
He was starting to be a turn off because of many things that were arising for, he was always incoherent about certain things, he was not the man of the relationship, he only had $358.00 with him when he came to visit me and my family but, he did not spend a single dime of money on anything except water.
Where is this story going? Well when we talked he mentioned that he was a computer scientist working for a company that deals with computers but, it reality he did not do anything of the sort for he had only a certificate in computer science and information technologies.
Now I was told that you need to have at least a bachelors degree in order to gain an entry-level position as a computer scientist so, a certificate program would not even do that so, he would have been a complete waste of time dealing with him. He had a dead end job where he was a mailroom clerk and all he did was print out letters, send out letters, and gave his fellow co-workers their mail that they received.
In addition I asked him what do you expect where you do not have the experience nor the knowledge to do a job such as a computer scientist, also you do not even have the professional attire that computer scientist wear when they are working. His reason to me was that he never went into having a degree when he finished school was that he did not want to live off of financial aid nor live on campus so, he is still stuck and I am progressing more so into my career.
What was the purpose of this story well if he was professional when he was 18 or 19 before he decided to take up a career where professionalism is a must especially when it comes to attire which he should have practice when he was still in school trying to pursue such as career.
Where is he now? Still looking for a school that will not give him financial aid nor a long degree program that will hinder him from having a job.
So if you want to be taken seriously in the profession that you want to be in dress professional and do not be lazy and wear anything and except it.
I went to a technical school to be a paralegal and then got a job as an advocate. The schooling only took one year, and the school helped me find a job. As a paralegal one can work in any kind of law practice. There are also government jobs for paralegals working in courts as victims' advocates, for example. Just some thoughts. I will never regret getting a paralegal degree.
ReplyDeleteWow that is great that you was able to obtain a Paralegal Degree within a year for I had friends that needed to take it longer for Just an Associates. I am working my way of a Victims Advocate with the courts for there are a lot of victims that are out here but, they are not just humans like most people think.
